Description: Herbaceous penstemon (6 to 24" tall) with waxy, blue foliage and dark blue to lavender flowers in summer. Cascade Mountains. It generally grows in sandy soil in open woods. Sun, low water. Good butterfly plant. Pictured here, a Western Sulphur nectars on Penstemon euglaucus in the Mt. Hood National Forest.
